Ava Ava was born and raised in San Francisco. She completed her B.A. Degree in Asian American Studies at the end of Fall 2002. Subsequently, she will be attending the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco beginning February 2003. She is enrolled in the Baking & Pastry Arts Program, which fits her goal to have her own bakery someday. During her years at San Francisco State University, she has been active in the SFSU Hapa Club during 2001-2002 and is currently in the Ating Tao Drum Circle (ATDC), a Filipino drum group comprised of San Francisco State University students. ATDC is currently collaborating with Master Danongnan Kalanduyan, a master musician in the art of the kulintang, an ancient traditional Philippine instrument from Mindinao Island. She was also the curator of the SFSU Hapa ClubÕs first "Hapa Film Night" in Spring of 2002 with the help of Matt Abaya. Bampinay is the first film production Ava has ever taken any participation in.
